💡 Quick answers

Just need a fast answer?

The questions we get asked most — tap one to open it.

How much does it cost?

First 15 minutes free. Then £5 for a 24-hour rental, and £5 for each extra day — capped at £20 total.

Lost it or it broke? You are never charged more than the £20 cap — no loss fees, no deposit. If an umbrella isn't returned after 48 hours, we assume you'd like to keep it — the charge caps at £20 and the umbrella is yours to keep, forever.

Changed your mind? Return it within 7 days for a £10 refund — just fill out an umbrella returns form:

How do I return the umbrella?

Slot the umbrella firmly back into any open slot at any RentaBrolly station — it doesn't have to be the one you took it from.

Hold it in for 5 seconds until the slot light holds green — that's your confirmation it's been returned correctly.

A notification will then appear on the station screen telling you how long you rented for and how much you'll be charged.

I've only just taken it — can I stop?

Yes. Return the umbrella to any RentaBrolly station within the first 15 minutes and you're automatically refunded in full — no form, no waiting.

After 15 minutes, normal pricing applies.

Where can I find a RentaBrolly umbrella?

RentaBrolly umbrella stands live inside partner venues — bars, cafés, gyms, hotels and more. If you're somewhere with a RentaBrolly stand, just tap your card or phone on it to release an umbrella.

We're signing up venues across the UK now, ahead of our September 2026 launch.

Will it actually keep me dry?

Every RentaBrolly umbrella is a full-size, wind-resistant canopy — built to handle a proper British downpour, not just a light drizzle. Big enough to share, too.

A station won't release an umbrella

This usually happens because the umbrella the station tried to give you was flagged for a quick check — so the station held it back rather than hand you a faulty one.

Don't worry about being charged. We've already logged it, and the £5 will bounce back to you within a few hours. Just try again — the station will release a good umbrella. You will never be double charged.

Still no luck after a couple of tries? Let us know:

I was charged but no umbrella came out

Don't worry — we'll always automatically refund you. That payment is only a pending hold, and it bounces back to you on its own, usually within 2–3 hours.

You don't need to do anything. If you'd still like to chase it up and it's been more than 2 days, let us know:

My umbrella is faulty or damaged

Pop it back into any RentaBrolly station and grab a different one — you won't pay twice in the same rental window.

Then log it below with the umbrella code printed on the handle, so we can pull that umbrella and refund your rental.

I've been charged the wrong amount

Quick check first: 15 mins free, £5 for a 24-hour rental, £5 per extra day, £20 capped total if an umbrella isn't returned.

If it still doesn't add up, log it below with the amount charged and we'll look into it and put it right.

I've taken an umbrella home

No stress. Once you hit the £20 cap the umbrella is yours to keep — use it whenever you like, rain or shine.

Prefer the money back? Return it to any RentaBrolly station within 7 days and log it below — we'll refund you £10.
